Grecian Revival Mantel Clock
Exceptional Grecian Revival Gilt Patinated Bronze Mantel Clock, circa 1880. Standing at 29" tall, it is a mantle clock of grand proportions having a thick black slate case fitted with a gilt dial, flanked by two mythological winged beasts clutching a serpent, the apron centered by a female mask, on naturalistic openwork scroll feet, surmounted by a patinated bronze group depicting a knight on horseback slaying the fallen warrior. This outstanding bronze is after a work made famous by Theodore Gechter (1796-1844) in the Louvre, Dpt. des Sculptures, Paris, France.

Antique Tambour Hepplewhite Mahogany Secretary
A fine and unusual early 19th century double tambour Hepplewhite secretary. The top section has two tambour slides revealing an interior of three drawers and nine compartments. The bottom has a fold over writing surface section, pull out slides, two side by side drawers and two serpentine front tambour slides. The legs, drawer fronts and slides all have string inlay. It generally overall it is in very good condition. The surface patina is rich and lustrous brown mahogany. The tambour slide on the top and bottom as you probably know is quiet rare. This is a fabulous piece – very elegant and handsome.
